SASS School Project
Monday 24th May 2010
On Wednesday, Darnley, Nikki
and Rosetta, were invited to SASS school to see the results of the
Trust’s kindness. The Principal, teachers and students were
extremely gracious and could not stop smiling with pride as they
showed off their new pathway. Once teacher commented that it feels
like entering Spice Inn when she walks into school these days. The
students have taken such pride in the result, that they no longer
litter the front entrance way. It is truly amazing how Mrs. Moses
determination to get this done has resulted in the job being done. She
did work tirelessly to bring all the various donations together, to
the extent that she battered off some cement to get the gravel that
she needed. She had not raised sufficient funds to purchase the
gravel. As a result, she had to shorten the driveway a little, but was
very philosophical in saying that she will tackle that another time.
The layout of the buildings of the school created a wind tunnel along
this pathway and the principal showed how when the wind blew across
from the open playing field the clouds of dust would be blown right
into the classrooms, often choking the students. This no longer
happens.
They are extremely grateful to the Trust and invited us to place a
plaque on the wall should we wish it. The school is preparing a
special “thank you’ package for the Trust that will be delivered
in June, but in the meantime they have shared some photos for us. SASS
has also extended an invitation to any member of the Trust who would
like to come in and do an inspirational talk to the kids.
